so you like windsor huh?

i checked it out. very nice area. i suppose if your Queen could live there... ; )

but seriously, they have a pretty good website for it.

they have all sorts of links about places to see, things to do. major selling point for me? LEGOLAND. haha! how much of a geek am i?!

another cool part about this website, it has a link to a webcam on the highstreet which updates every 4 seconds. yesterday, this guy was loading stuff into the boot (notice how i am de-americanizing my vocabulary?). i felt like a stalker. seriously. i watched him open, pack, close and drive off. fascinating. there's a word for what that is. i read it in a book yesterday.

maybe it is appropriate that you work with international SOS. "international man of mystery" and google-stalker-girl. we make a good team ; )

i was eating lunch...

... when i heard some birds chatting away in the garage. i peeked out the window, and found two tiny black birds having a "conversation"... they seemed to love floyd because they were hopping all around him the whole time. this particular one liked the side mirror!

cake update

trisha of satin cakes sent me a message earlier today. she said that she had just found out she was pregnant! and is unable to confirm if she can do our cake, because her due date is near our wedding! wow! i sent her a congratulatory text and asked her if she could recommend anyone else.

just a bit bummed out because her price was so good! : (

anyway, she recommended cake concepts unlimited. their office is very close by, so i went to see them this afternoon. they completely designed a cake, and gave me a taste test of their cakes too. anyway, here is a photo of the sketch they made of the cake.

the Bloomfields

Lex and I were blown away.

They looked just a bit older than my brother, and their talent and energy was amazing! All of them sang, all of them were playing an instrument. The drummer was a genius. Their bassist was such a great performer, he lit up the stage. It's all about the drums and bass guitar for me. Only people their age could have pulled it off! If they were in their 40s they would have looked silly! I've sent you videos to prove it! : )

The music was happy, high-energy, fun and best of all, something you can move to. Be it head-bopping, hand-clapping, arm-waving, foot-tapping or all-out-full-body-spastic dancing!!

I think we have found THE band to play at the wedding.

my version of cheese and pickle sandwiches

remember i told you that we still had some branston pickle left in the fridge? well, i had some crusty rolls (oats) and bought some sharp cheddar cheese (sorry, not english cheddar). made myself some today. they were good! plus they were pandesal sized rolls, so it was very snack-friendly food. tomorrow, i will look for some bananas to finish off the rest of the custard!

site note: my tita gave us some mangoes today! really big sweet ones. wish you were here. you would have loved them!

october 8 save the date.

labo. no, we have not changed dates. (lol)
joe, the-man-bearing-the-lace as he is now referred to by moo and meow, will be arriving in Manila then! i would like to meet him up at the airport. but i think that'll be a bit much ; )

updates:

1) will be meeting with dressmaker next week. jong will go with me, since she knows the way! i HOPE she remembers the way. she has the worst sense of direction i have seen! maybe because she doesn't drive. so what's my excuse when i have a bad sense of direction and i DO drive?!
in any case, we will have our trusty driver to go with us. since according to jong the roads are really narrow (read: hard to navigate) and we have to go during low tide (read again: it floods in malabon so at least we have kuya winnie around!)

2) dad has called in the "big guns" -- despite my insistence that there is no need.crap. -- to help with renee on saturday. i tell you. hay naku. we still have to skype about all this.

3) i got ate jovy a wedding album. i made part of it myself!! i changed the 4R photo slots into sheets of cream heavy laid paper since her photos are 5R : ) she was so happy to receive it. she said they didn't have money for a wedding album yet, so she still had her photos in a paper envelope. aaaay. she's back working with us again. her husband (asawa, remember the word?) who works 6 days a week in construction will be staying with us during the weekends until they get a place of their own nearby. they are more than help to us. they really are part of the family. it is too bad that her wedding was the same day as manny's.. would have been nice to be present at her wedding.

4) have the salpicao and adobe ala susan recipies in wedding filer. maybe will need separate filer for post wedding.. including instructions on "how to clean the bathroom" and "how NOT to burn down the house".

5) as a result of this addiction to bittorrent, i have finished watching house AND new eps of lost, desperate housewives, csi. maybe will start on a totally new show. any suggestions? has doctor who started up yet? : )

love you bug.

jacqui has found a shop in palmsdale that sells chantilly lace! she is going to visit today and will email me photos. crossing fingers that this is the one! the price is really good. plus, she cut out coupons (hold your laughter) and is now entitled to 50% discount! she loves me huh? :)

christmas season has begun

we've begun!!! i know, you think we're insane. maybe we are!!! :)
we hold the record after all. longest christmas season in the world.

(in the background, the security guard wasn't happy that we were taking photos. apparently, it's not allowed.)

my obsession with lace

BASICALLY, it's for my wedding gown. apparently it is difficult and expensive to source here. so i've been looking around online. found a few suppliers. this one supplier who has great fabric but is currently not able to do anything work-wise. her city is underwater. courtesy of Hurricane Katrina! but she took the time to email me! imagine.

so here we go. CHANTILLY LACE. how much per foot or yard or what have you. the thicker the band the better. some will be ribbon thin (a few inches in width), we're looking for at least 32". in ivory if they have it. thanks bug.

check out this and this for ideas.

06 September 2005

meeting a princess tomorrow

set up a meeting with tita mila tomorrow. my mom really likes her a lot. mom has a lot of stuff she wants re-sized, re-set and cleaned. so it should be an interesting "meeting". i'll bring the camera, maybe i can get a nice photo!

took two seconds

your mission offends google-girl. too easy ; )
kidding!
very cool.

first song post

was watching sleepless in seattle the other night. one of my most favorite movies. and one of the very few original cds i actually own! it ends with this song, right before the credits.

It's so important to make someone happy,
Make just one someone happy;
Make just one heart the heart you sing to.
One smile that cheers you,
One face that lights when it nears you,
One girl you're ev'rything to.

Fame if you win it,
Comes and goes in a minute.
Where's the real stuff in life to cling to?
Love is the answer,
Someone to love is the answer.
Once you've found her, build your world around her.

Make someone happy,
Make just one someone happy,
And you will be happy, too.

- Make Someone Happy sung by Jimmy Durante in Sleepless in Seattle

wedding expo ideas

this one was so much better than the one we attended before! so sorry you missed it. you would have enjoyed it. chito vecina was there! i introduced him to mom. : )

we'll discuss this more on skype, but three main things we took home from the expo:

1) souvenir ideas. remember the almonds? how about a fusion thing? almonds in a box made from pinatubo ash? Excel Frames and Decors
*anyway, it's not in the budget, so i'm not really thinking about it. just thought it was a nice touch.

2) 1816 events by robert blancaflor. basically, i've been scouting around for someone who can STYLE events. i've asked if they'd let us source the flowers from my dad's friend. and they said yes. that King Louie was one of their suppliers anyway! anyway, set up an appointment with them on thursday. we'll see how it goes.

3) the most important thing: Color Me Mine

02 September 2005

no fireworks, no view

just got off the phone with renee.
she had just emailed me about the crew meals inquiry.
long conversation short,
they said that should the other group
(who is apparently looking at booking the garden)
push through with the booking,
not only will we not be able to use fireworks.
we won't even be able to use the viewdeck as well.
:(

counting to ten and invites

1.
i'm supposed to bring in sources of inspiration/styles that we would like to have in our invitation. but if i remember correctly, you never really understood the concept i was going for?
anyway, here's my pitch:

2.
Griffin and Sabine styling and interactive-ity in a passport

passport style - this one has muted gold and faded blue coloUred font
3.

this one has inserts which could be our registry cards/map to reception, etc.

i don't know if you recall the Griffin and Sabine books that i showed you at POWERBOOKS? the 4. books that were interactive? anyway, it would be cool if there were an element of that.
the following are just illustrations of the style i had in mind..

5.
6.

morning of day 3

i really have to come up with nicer titles to my blogs...

anyway, morning bug! am on my way to a pilates class at 11. it's a B1 level class, hope i can handle it!

the results of your initial search for floyd on the "busiest motorway in europe" intrigued me. i found this on the honda site in the UK (titch aka google-girl):

it exists!! go find it bug :)
